This Peach Crisp is prepared with fresh peaches and topped with a crisp, buttery oat topping. It’s so incredibly delicious, you’ll be going back for seconds!

This recipe is based off of my cranberry apple crisp that I serve during the holidays (have you tried it yet?). I love fruit crisps because they’re so simple to make, but taste like you spent hours preparing them.

Peach crisp is an easy dessert that’s made with mostly fridge and pantry staple ingredients. You probably already have everything you need to make it (except the peaches!).

    Ingredients Notes

Overhead view of ingredients for making fresh peach crisp.
    • Fresh peaches – you’ll need three pounds (about 7 large peaches) peeled, pitted and sliced.
    • Oats – old fashioned
    • Sugar – white granulated sugar for the peach mixture and brown sugar for the topping. Light or dark brown sugar can be used.
    • Cinnamon and nutmeg – used in both the filling and the topping. Feel free to adjust the amounts to your personal taste!
    • Flour – used in both the filling and the topping (all-purpose flour).
    • Butter – melted
    • Pecans – I love the added texture and flavor of chopped pecans in the oat topping, but feel free to omit them, if desired.

    How to Make it

    1. Whisk together white sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg in a small bowl.
    2. Place the fresh sliced peaches in a large bowl.
    3. Sprinkle the sugar and flour mixture over the peaches and gently toss to coat as evenly as possible.

    1. Transfer the peaches to a baking dish that has been sprayed with cooking spray.
    2. Prepare the oat topping by stirring together oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and pecans in a medium bowl. Add melted butter and stir until incorporated.
    3. Sprinkle topping mixture over fruit mixture. Bake in a 350 degree preheated oven for 35 minutes, or until edges are bubbling and fruit is tender.

Serve it topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for the ultimate summertime dessert – yes, please!!

    • ½ cup chopped pecans
    • ½ cup unsalted butter melted (1 stick)

    Instructions

Our peach tree had fruit for the first time this year. This is the first recipe I’ve made with them and it was SO good! Not too overly sweet as most are so the natural sweetness of the fresh peaches was not overcome by all the sugar. DELICIOUS!

This looks like a good, easy recipe. Wondering if it can be frozen and if so, befor or after baking? Thanks.
