This delicious Cranberry Apple Crisp is full of juicy cranberries, tart apples and topped with a crispy buttery oat topping. It’s an easy dessert that requires just 15 minutes prep time!
Cranberries aren’t just for cranberry sauce! This dessert crisp is a delicious way to celebrate the flavors of fall and the holidays. Not only is it simple to prepare, it is delicious when reheated.
Your Simple Ingredients
- Apples – peeled, cored and chopped. I use Granny Smith, but Golden Delicious or Honeycrisp (or a mixture) will work as well.
- Cranberries – fresh or frozen. There is no need to thaw if using frozen.
- Cinnamon and nutmeg – adjust the spices to your personal preference, if desired.
- Sugar – white granulated sugar is used in the cranberry and apple mixture and brown sugar is used in the topping.
- Flour – all-purpose flour
- Pecans – added crunch and flavor for the delicious oat topping!
- Butter – melted butter for the oat topping. I use unsalted but salted can be used.
- Oats – I use old fashioned cooking oats (I like the texture), but quick oats can be used as well (it has a finer and more delicate texture).
How to Make It
In a large bowl, whisk together sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add cranberries and apples, then gently stir to coat evenly. Transfer to a prepared baking dish.
Prepare the oat topping by stirring together oats, flour, brown sugar, pecans, cinnamon and nutmeg in a bowl until combined. Add melted butter and stir again until incorporated.
Sprinkle topping mixture over the fruit mixture. Bake for 50 minutes, or until edges are bubbling and fruit is tender.
SO GOOD and a perfect addition to your dessert table during the holidays!
How to Make-Ahead and Reheat
Bake a day ahead of time and allow to cool. Cover and refrigerate. When ready to reheat, allow to come to room temperature before placing in the oven. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes at 350 degrees F (uncovered), or until warmed through.
Top it off with vanilla ice cream for an extra-special dessert everyone will love. ENJOY!

I wasn’t sure how tart it would be, using granny’s and cranberries, but tried it as I had whole cranberries leftover from Christmas. It didn’t disappoint. I did add a bit more cinnamon and nutmeg to the fruit mixture.
I would say the prep is off at 15 minutes with the peeling and dicing, but worth it. Great with vanilla ice cream!
Made this early this morning and what a treat. Absolutely delish!!
