You’re just FIVE simple ingredients away from one of the most delicious treats of your life with this easy NO BAKE dessert!
These taste just like a peanut butter cup and are prepared in about 15 minutes. The hardest part is waiting for them to set in the fridge after you make them. They’re totally irresistible!
This is also a great recipe to make with your kids. Very few steps are involved and they’ll definitely have a delicious treat to look forward to.
Your Simple Ingredients
- Chocolate chips – semi-sweet
- Butter – salted or unsalted can be used
- Peanut butter – creamy (not chunky)
- Graham cracker crumbs – use finely crushed crumbs
- Powdered sugar
How to Make Them
- Stir together melted butter, graham cracker crumbs, powdered sugar and peanut butter in a large bowl until combined.
- Press mixture into an 8×8 or 9×9 pan lined with parchment paper.
- Microwave chocolate chips and ¼ cup peanut butter in a microwave-safe bowl until melted. Stir until smooth and combined.
- Spread chocolate mixture over graham cracker mixture. Refrigerate until firm.
A Delicious Year-Round Treat
What I love about this dessert is that it’s not seasonal and is a perfect sweet treat every month of the year.
It’s great for summer because no baking is required and makes for a delicious holiday gift during the winter months!
Absolutely! Wrap the bars individually in plastic wrap, place in an airtight storage container and freeze for up to 3 months. Pop them in the fridge to defrost.

No-Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars
Ingredients
- ¾ cup butter melted (1 ½ sticks)
- 2 cups finely crushed graham cracker crumbs
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 ¼ cups creamy peanut butter divided
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Line an 8×8 or a 9×9 baking dish with parchment paper.
- Stir together melted butter, graham cracker crumbs, powdered sugar and 1 cup of the peanut butter in a large bowl with a large spoon until combined.
- Transfer graham cracker mixture to the prepared dish. Spread well and press evenly (I use a spatula to press).Â
- Microwave chocolate chips and the remaining ¼ cup peanut butter in a microwave-safe bowl for approximately 2 minutes on high, or until melted. Stir well to combine.
- Spread chocolate mixture evenly over graham cracker mixture. Refrigerate for at least one hour (or until firm) before slicing*. Store covered in the refrigerator.
Notes
- *When ready to slice, remove from fridge and allow to sit at room temperature for 5 to 10 minutes so that the chocolate topping doesn’t crack when slicing.
- To freeze, wrap bars individually in plastic wrap and place in an airtight container. Freeze for up to 3 months. Defrost in the refrigerator.

Thanks so much, Connie! 🙂
i think that you did an amazing job thinking up this resipy
Can these be made without the powdered sugar??
Hi Beth, no these cannot be made without the powdered sugar. Hope you enjoy if you make them! 🙂
How long can they be stored. Can they be frozen slso
Hi Cathy, the longest I’ve stored these is a 3 days in an airtight container in the fridge, so I can’t say with certainty if they’ll store longer than that. I’ve never frozen these. If you have good luck with freezing, please let me know! 🙂
Why are these so good? Great recipe! My dear friend sent this to me and she was in a tragic car accident. Every time I make them I think of her. I added some vanilla this time… because well…I love vanilla! Great summer treat and my son loved licking the spoon since there wasn’t any raw egg!
Thank you!
Hi Ashley, thanks so much! I’m really sorry about your friend. Vanilla sounds like a great addition as well! 🙂
I had 1/2 box of graham crackers and fell short of two cups. Just so happened to have a small amount of Nila Wafers in my cupboard so I used those to make up for it. Food processor works great to get them finely ground. Turned out great! I would imagine you’d be able to substitute Nila Wafers for the graham crackers if graham crackers are a turn off.
That sounds like a perfect substitution, Linda! So glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
Just made these and they are divine!! Thank you!
Thanks so much, Sandy… glad to hear you enjoyed them! 🙂
If you are going to remove the text of the recipe and create a video, at least put the ingredient quantities in the video. I had to use a google cache version of your site to get the recipe!
Hi John, this was by no means intentional and thank you for bringing it to my attention. I provide printable recipe cards for all of my recipes and am not exactly sure how this one got deleted. This has been corrected.
My family calls this peanut butter crack!
Best quick dessert ever!
Thanks so much, Cindy… it’s one of my favorites as well! 🙂
I LOVE this recipe! Thanks so much, Amy. I’m only nine and these were extremely easy and definitely delicious! I will use this website a lot more than any other recipe app/website!
Thank you so much, Luciana! So glad you enjoyed the peanut butter bars… I’m making these today as well! 🙂
What is the texture once chilled? Are they easy to cut?
Hey Michelle, They are very firm and I did use a very sharp knife but the bars weren’t difficult to cut. Hope you enjoy! 🙂
Thanks so much!
These look amazing! Can they be made in a 13×9 pan too? How many graham crackers equal 2 cups?
Thanks!
Katie
Hi Katie, these can be made in a larger pan, they just won’t be as thick. I buy graham cracker crumbs by the box (already crushed) so I don’t know how many crackers equals 2 cups of crumbs. Hope you enjoy! 🙂
Thank you, Amy!
It should be about 14.
My sweet tooth got the best of me! Fixed these in a jiffy. Soooooo good! Thanks, Amy.
Thanks, Jo! So glad you enjoyed them!
I have a weakness for Peanut Butter…..
