Jalapeno Pimento Cheese Recipe
Since I live by myself (and with my dog Chance), I find myself cooking large meals less and less, and snacking more and more. Sometimes I will break bad and bake a roast or grill out, but it’s really hard cooking for one.
I think I might make my daddy John proud with this one. He is the pimento cheese KING. I actually ask him for a bowl of it every year for my birthday! I can never make it like he does, though. That stuff is like gold!
I’ve never been a huge jalapeño person, but am finding myself liking the flavor more and more. This pimento cheese is by NO MEANS overly-hot or spicy in any way. The small amount of minced jalapeños give it just enough “ummph” to make it slap your taste buds… without making your eyes water.
I did, however, add a lot more shredded cheddar cheese than the original recipe called for. The texture was too creamy for my taste, so I threw in {a lot} more cheese.
If you’re a pimento cheese fan like me, you’ve gotta give this jalapeño version a try. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed!

We lived in Georgia for 11 years and we learned to love this spread. Since we moved to the north, it is much more difficult to find. This recipe is wonderful!!!! No longer have to worry about not finding it in the stores anymore. Thank you for sharing!!!

Hi Amy !
I tried your recipe with a few (umm umm)”tweeks”, in other words I didn’t have any pimentos so I used olives stuffed with pimentos and red pepper flakes. I’m pleased… I’m the only one I’m the only person in my house that loves this decadent food! Have you tried this “tweek” before?
Hi Susan, I’ve never made any changes to this recipe but your version sounds delicious! Sorry for the delay in responding, we’ve been recovering from Hurricane Florence. The red pepper flakes sound delicious in this! 🙂
How long do you think this will stay good for in the fridge?
Hi Delia, I’ve only stored this in the fridge for a maximum of 2 days (it doesn’t last long!) so I can’t say anything beyond 2 days with certainty. Hope you enjoy it! 🙂
Yum! I used an extra 2 oz. of cheese (basically, 2 7 oz bags) and a little less mayo. I also used Mt. Olive dice jalapeños and it was delicious. I shopped lots of recipes. Glad I tried this one!
Thanks, Missi! It’s always a favorite around here! 🙂
