This Easy Pizza Dip is everything you love about pizza, but in a quick and simple appetizer dip. It can be easily customized with your favorite toppings and is ready in just 35 minutes!
This dip can also be made ahead of time until you’re ready to pop it in the oven. Serve it with tortilla chips, crackers, pretzels or toasted baguette slices (or you can just eat it with a spoon!).
It’s prepared with simple ingredients and so easy to make!
Ingredients Notes
- Mozzarella – I do not recommend the bagged pre-shredded cheese – freshly shredded from the block is best! You’ll need an eight ounce block to yield 2 cups.
- Pizza sauce – use your favorite store-bought sauce or make your own homemade pizza sauce (it’s so easy!). You can also use marinara sauce in place of pizza sauce.
- Cream cheese – an eight ounce brick of cream cheese, softened.
- Parmesan – freshly grated is best! I have used the powdered version (in the plastic jar) in this recipe and it is still delicious, but I prefer freshly grated.
- Pepperoni – enough slices to cover the top of the dip (about 15 to 18 slices).
- Italian seasoning – feel free to increase or decrease the amount according to your preference.
How to Make Pizza Dip
- Stir together softened cream cheese and Italian seasoning in a medium bowl.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture in a nine inch pie dish that has been sprayed with cooking spray.
- Sprinkle evenly with half of the grated Parmesan cheese.
- Sprinkle evenly with half of the shredded Mozzarella cheese.
- Spread the pizza sauce over the layered cheeses.
- Evenly sprinkle the remaining Parmesan over the pizza sauce.
- Evenly sprinkle with the remaining mozzarella.
- Top with pepperoni slices. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until thoroughly heated and bubbling around the edges.
Easily Customizable
Make this dip your own personal favorite by adding your favorite toppings! A few that come to mind are:
- black olives
- bell pepper
- onions
- ham
- crumbled cooked sausage
- mushrooms
I also love it sprinkled with a little chopped fresh basil when serving.
Enjoy!
