August is National Peach Month and my inner redneck self is raging to come out.
Not to mention that my birthday is this weekend. Saying that I’ll be 37 years young makes me feel a little better.
I felt it was appropriate to make a cocktail with whiskey and peaches for “Thirsty Thursday” today; being that my first gift on my 21st birthday was a bottle of Crown Royal. And it’s the month of celebrating peaches. And I’m from the South. So there.
And you know us southerners like to sit on our front porches in the evenings, sip from jars and “people watch”. Well, l do. It’s my nightly summer entertainment!
Here are the simple ingredients to the ‘ole Bear Juice Cocktail: Canadian Whiskey (I used Crown Royal, of course), cranberry juice, peach schnapps and optional peach slices for garnish.
Now go celebrate this month of peaches and get your Bear Juice goin’ on! Cheers!
Ingredients
- 1 part Canadian Whiskey (I used Crown Royal)
- 1 part peach schnapps
- 1 part cranberry juice
- Optional: sliced peaches for garnish
Instructions
- Mix all ingredients and serve over ice. Garnish with peaches, if desired.
