    Creamsicle Margaritas

I tend to have no rules when it comes to mixing cocktails… if I mix something up and it tastes phenomenal, I’m going to share it.  Just like these amazingly delicious (and easy!) Creamsicle Margaritas.

Overhead view of three garnished orange margaritas surrounded by creamsicle ice cream pops.

This margarita has the flavors of creamy oranges, tequila and lime.  I literally thought of this margarita when I woke up in the middle of the night on National Margarita Day.  It must have been from seeing all of the awesome photographs of margaritas on Instagram earlier that day!

Front view of three orange margaritas garnished with orange and lime.

I looked it up online and most other recipes are frozen versions, but I didn’t see any with whipped vodka (which is what I thought of in the middle of the night!).  So I took a chance, mixed it until I got it like I liked it… and that was it.  This is my Creamsicle Margarita.

Overhead view of a glass being rimmed on a plate with salt, oranges and limes.

You can make it by the glass or by the pitcher.  The ingredients are measured in “parts”, because that’s how I worked with it while measuring ingredients until I got the flavor like I wanted it.

Overhead view of three garnished margaritas by a creamsicle that has been bitten.

It was SO HARD for me not to drink one of these after photographing (although I HAD to sip to taste it, right?!).  I strained them into a pitcher for later tonight… trust me, they’re not going to waste!  🙂

And if you’re hesitant about mixing tequila with vodka, don’t be.  Take my word that this tastes… well, you’ll just have to try it to find out for yourself!  Cheers!

Hi Karen, This recipe has whipped vodka in it – although I haven’t tried it, you could leave out the tequila and use more vodka. I hope you and your friend enjoy it! 🙂

I found you because I had just a little vodka and tequila at the bottom of the jars and wanted to recycle the bottles today. So I made 2 of these for breakfast and they were great. I only had regular vodka so I added two drops of vanilla extract and that did the trick! 🙂

I squeezed my own orange and lime juice and added a little xtra vodka tequila and triple sec…fabulous
Oh and I made a batch and used it to make ice cubes as to not dilute the drink. Thanks for a crowd pleaser

Have you tried making these as frozen margaritas. I like to make frozen margaritas and pour into mason jars and keep in the freezer. This is my version of “canning”.

When you say “whipped vodka” do you mean whipped cream vodka?

A “part” depends on the size of your pitcher or how much you want to make. For instance, if you use 1 cup as a part, then it would be 1 cup tequila, 1 cup whipped vodka, 1/2 cup triple sec, 5 cups orange juice, and a splash of lime juice. This would yield around 7-1/2 cups.

If you can’t find whipped vodka could you add cream or half and half? Would it curdle?

Maybe try Whipping Cream and add your vodka in it. It will then be Whopped Vodka

It’s with all the other flavored vodkas. Pinnacle brand has a few different flavors. It’s near the chocolate cake flavor, etc. I add the whipped flavor INTO my whipped cream for an added level of flavor. Throw it in hot chocolate, on ice cream, use it in a trifle…all good!
