Happy New Year! This past year certainly has been a whirlwind of a year to say the least.  I celebrated with this delicious Peppermint Bark Hot Chocolate Cocktail!
Since I started this blog, I immediately fell in love with blogging and food photography. I already loved food (and cocktails) or I wouldn’t have started the blog in the first place. Honestly, I was at a really bad point in my life and needed to feel good about something, have a hobby and feel like I was helping someone… you know, like possibly an air-head like me who was first learning to cook.
I’ve met and connected with so many awesome people, like the great folks with Pinnacle Vodka. It didn’t take them long to recognize I was a fan, and I’ve been fortunate enough to receive all of their newest flavors.
And my friends love me for it.
Oh. My. Word. Great-tasting cocktails don’t necessarily have to be complicated… all I did was mix this up with a cup of hot chocolate with marshmallows. It was off the hook.
Back to last year. I loved it and I hated it. I worked at a job that I really didn’t enjoy and dreaded going to work every day. I loved the people, but couldn’t satisfy my inner creative beast that was dying to cook, photograph and write about food. I finally got in the position to quit that job and do what I love every day, which includes this little blog of mine.
Thank you for your support and encouraging words over the past few years. Cheers to the new year!

So happy to hear of your news! Sounds like an amazing start to 2014!…and I am going to brave the 8 inches of snow straight to the liquor store for this vodka. I need it in my life for the next few snow days here outside Chicago.
The Blond Cook
Thank you so much, Sherri! I don’t think I’ve ever seen 8 inches of snow except for in the mountains of NC. I’d definitely need this too with all that snow… lol! Happy New Year!
