I need to start off by apologizing for being late with Thirsty Thursday for the very first time. I have always managed to make and post Thursday cocktails up until this week. It has been “one of those weeks”, so I hope you understand! 🙂
Anticipating the arrival of Hurricane Sandy (ugh!), I deemed it appropriate to make nothing but a Hurricane Cocktail for this week! 🙂
Where I live on the coast of eastern North Carolina (Morehead City), I am blessed with beautiful views and sunsets.
The wildlife always amazes me. I’m not very good at taking photos of wildlife, but this is the best I could do to show you how fortunate I am to live here!
There is always “give and take”, along with compromise, in everything worthwhile. Nothing is ever perfect. So having to endure a hurricane every now and then is worth the priceless beauty of where I call home.
The ingredients in this cocktail are light rum, dark rum, passion fruit juice, orange juice, lime juice, simple syrup and grenadine. Most other recipes instruct to strain into a hurricane glass, but I chose to keep my ice; it’s up to ‘ya. This cocktail is definitely worth the effort, and I will be anticipating the arrival of Hurricane Sandy while I am sipping on one. 🙂
Okay, time to go hunker down and ride out this little storm… cheers to the weekend!
