Holiday Cookie Decorating with Betty Crocker

    FacebookTweetPinEmailYummly

My favorite thing to do during the holiday season is making treats for my friends and family… and I absolutely LOVE baking cookies!

This post is sponsored by General Mills®, a brand I regularly use.  All opinions shared are my own.

But as much as I love baking cookies during the holidays, I have a confession to make:  I have NEVER decorated cookies in my life.  NEVER EVER.  Because I’ve never made the time, nor do I think my decorating skills are all that.  We all have weak points and mine is decorating desserts.

This year I wanted to change that and not just bake cookies, but make them pretty and festive, too!  By using Betty  Crocker™ cookie mixes, it gave me more time to focus on decorating… the fun part!  🙂

I really did have the best time decorating these cookies, and it wasn’t as difficult as I imagined.  I sat at my kitchen table listening to George Strait Christmas music (my favorite!) with my dog Baby by my side on the floor waiting for anything to fall… I’m pretty sure she licked up a few sprinkles I dropped.  🙂

I figured out that using a little wooden popsicle stick works really good for frosting cookies!  When I made the peanut butter cookies, I dipped my fork in water in-between doing the crisscross indention on the cookies.

So it’s definitely a new tradition of mine to decorate cookies every holiday season and I can’t believe I waited this long!  What are your favorite ways to decorate cookies?

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Betty Crocker. The opinions and text are all mine.
