Crescent Roll Pigs in a Blanket

These pigs in a blanket prepared with crescent rolls are a quick and easy appetizer perfect for any occasion!

Ingredients

  • 1 (8 ounce) tube refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 16 cocktail party sausages little smokies
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • ¼ teaspoon poppy seeds

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Separate the dough into 8 triangles. Slice each triangle vertically in the center into 2 triangles.
  • Place each sausage on the wide end of each triangle and roll up the dough around the sausage.
  • Place on the prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart (point side DOWN).
  • Prepare the egg wash by whisking together the egg and water in a small bowl.
  • Brush the tops of each crescent lightly with the egg wash (you'll have some left over).
  • Sprinkle each crescent with the poppy seeds.
  • Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

  • Storage:  Once cooled, store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Reheating:  Reheat in the oven on a baking sheet at 300 degrees F for 10 minutes or until heated through.
