As much as I dislike winter, I LOVE this time of year. The holidays are what make winter bearable to me… all of the fellowship, delicious food and festive cocktails make the hustle and bustle worthwhile. I admit that I’m one of those last-minute procrastinators and wait until about now to start my Christmas shopping. I keep telling myself that one day I’ll start earlier, but it never happens!
It seems like I’ve always worked harder and had better outcomes under pressure, anyway. I was recently shopping at Target — I just love seeing all of the holiday decorations in the store — and believe it or not, everyone I came across was happy and smiling! I bought this International Delight White Chocolate Raspberry Creamer, and knew EXACTLY what I was going to do with it when I got home that evening. Mixing it with hot coffee and amaretto, then topping it with whipped cream, cinnamon and nutmeg resulted in something just magical! 🙂
I sat by my Christmas tree in my fuzzy pajama pants that evening with my dog (Baby) sipping on this coffee after a long day of errands and Christmas shopping. It’s those kinds of memories that make the holidays special to me. 🙂
What do you do for “me time” during the hustle and bustle of the holidays? Cheers and happy cooking! 🙂Print
