The classic mojito gets a summery, fruity twist in this Peach Mojito. This recipe is a delicious spin on the classic crowd-pleasing cocktail, combining the flavors of sweet peaches, refreshing mint, zesty lime, and white rum.
Although I love a traditional classic mojito, adding the sweetness of peaches is like summertime in a glass! This fruity mojito is prepared with simple ingredients and takes only a few minutes to mix up.
Ingredients
- White rum
- Club Soda
- Peaches – You’ll need 1 medium ripe peach that has been cut into approximately ½-inch pieces.
- Simple syrup
- Lime juice
- Fresh mint leaves
How to Make a Peach Mojito
- Place the peach pieces, mint leaves, simple syrup, and lime juice in a cocktail shaker. Muddle the peaches and mint leaves using a muddler.
- Strain the liquid into a glass over ice.
- Pour in 2 ounces (¼ cup) of rum.
- Top with club soda.
Helpful Tips
- Use RIPE peaches. Ripe peaches are crucial in this recipe because they’re soft and easy to muddle. Under-ripe peaches are difficult to muddle, not as sweet, and will not release very much juice.
- Use fresh lime juice. Although bottled lime juice can be used, fresh always has the best flavor.
- Be sure to garnish! Garnish isn’t technically required, but a peach slice, a lime slice, and a sprig of fresh mint adds a beautiful presentation to this delicious cocktail.
Common Questions
Choose peaches that give slightly when gently pressed. Avoid peaches that have bruises and blemishes. You will want perfectly ripe peaches (but not overly ripe) for making the perfect mojito.
If your peaches are not ripe, you can place them in a paper bag and fold the top over. The trapped ethylene gas will help them to ripen. Check after a day or two.
Absolutely! Skip buying store-bought because making simple syrup is so easy. Combine equal parts granulated white sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Heat until the sugar is dissolved, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and allow to cool completely before using.
Use the back of a large wooden spoon if you do not have a muddler.
