Amy’s Tattoo Cocktail

Nooooo, I didn’t get a tattoo.  I’m way too chicken to get one, although I’ve thought about it.  But this is a darn good cocktail, and it just happens to have my name.  :-)

How cool is that?

So, I’ve had the drink and knew of it before, but never really thought about where the name originated.  So of course I googled it—without any luck.  So, if anyone knows where the name came from…let a sista’ know!  Just curious.

Being that it’s already the middle of August, I’m trying to throw in as many “tooty-fruity” drinks as I can before the end of summer.

~Sigh~

So, I’ll keep posting these tropical drinks until it gets frigid cold.  Then what?  I’ll figure that out when the time comes.  I started “Thirsty Thursdays” on the blog in April of this year, so I have not clue what to do this winter!  Suggestions?  :-)

On that note, I want to thank all of you for helping my blog to become a success.  When I think of success, it means readership to me.  It has come a long way since I started it in December of last year, and I am at my happiest when I get the time to blog and take photographs of food and drinks.  And it’s all because of you.  So a big shout out and hugs to all of you!

Okay, enough with the sappiness and down to the skinny on how you make this cocktail.

Here are your ingredients:  dark rum and light rum (I used Bacardi), pineapple orange juice and grenadine.  The original recipe calls for orange juice AND pineapple juice…same thing; just one less bottle.

And you know that anything with rum and fruit juice has to be good, right?  That’s what I thought.  Cheers!  :-)

Comments

  1. I need one of these right now worse than anything :) Looks good!

  2. I make a drink called belladonna and its very similar except you use cranberry instead of grenadine. It’s very refreshing. One of my favories is a pineapple bomber. Amaretto southern comfort and pineapple.
